Watch: Anthony Bourdain's DC
For Dreaming of: the tastes that define a global capital
TV Series
Despite it airing over 11 years ago from the long gone and celebrated chef, Anthony Bourdain’s investigation into the culinary scene of DC outside of the tourist zone still resonates and is worth a watch. DC staples like Ben’s Chili Bowl (now available inside the terminal at DCA), Busboys & Poets remain decent options, and MiniBar still is one of our favorites for DC’s best high-end meals. In fact, now equally-notable Spanish chef José Andres’ appearance in the segment is very entertaining. Most relevant is Bourdain’s visit to the suburbs, where the international food options often reign supreme: no visit to DC is complete without sampling Ethiopian or Eritrean stews, or for an immersion into Vietnamese cuisine, head to Virginia’s Eden Center.
