Travel Research: Washington, DC
DC Beyond the Mall – a Google Map charting Syllogi’s favorite eats, stays, and must-sees.
Curated Map of Recommendations
Washington is so much more than Smithsonian exhibitions and classical monuments surrounding the grassy horizons of the National Mall. (And don’t be mistaken—these things are great, especially our favorite monument, the FDR, and favorite museum - the National Gallery of Art–both of which we’ll occasionally visit on our own accord despite the crowds!) But, the neighborhoods surrounding these federal areas are where the “real” life in the city exists: from globally-rich restaurants, lush gardens and parks, interesting historical sites, and beautiful homes, DC offers a plethora of activities “beyond the Mall.”
We have created a map as a valuable resource that highlights some of our very favorite places within the District, many of which are not on the traditional tourist itinerary. We like Google Maps not only for its ability to help navigate and orient, but also because it consolidates helpful information for each venue including photos, address, reviews, and hours of operation, as a ‘one-stop-shop.’
Syllogi’s ‘Travel Research’ publication is an exclusive offering for our members, giving you selected access to our collection of travel projects and guides from our library. As Travel Researchers, this represents highlights from our signature offering to private clients who commission us to provide personalized research for their upcoming travels, and also projects that we have created from our own personal travel. Given the custom nature of each piece, they may skew more family-oriented, or towards a single traveller, or perhaps towards someone who is a foodie, or someone who loves nature. Either way, this intel serves a great guide and overview for anyone travelling to the featured destination.
