Travel Research - A Cape Town Guide
Our favorites on The Cape
Curated Recommendations and Guide
Often considered one of the world’s most beautiful and desirable cities in which to travel and live, Cape Town sits atop many travel bucket lists. It anchors one of the most impressive natural features in Africa: the Western Cape, home to Table Mountain and the southwestern-most point of the continent. As one of three capitals of South Africa, it is often combined with a safari vacation, an urban respite before or after experiencing the wilderness. But getting there is no easy feat, easily a 12+ hour journey from Europe, North America, or Australia, it parallels Buenos Aires and Sydney by latitude at the ‘bottom’ of the world. The exchange rate makes a visit very affordable, and the city is about as cosmopolitan as they come, with excellent hotels and restaurants, plus a very progressive view on LGBTQ lifestyles. Beyond downtown, we share a trip along the Western Cape – filled with penguins and panoramic vistas – all the way to the iconic sign at The Cape of Good Hope.
These are our favorite hotels, restaurants, and must-dos in and around the city.
