Travel Research: A Weekend in Santa Fe, New Mexico

Curated Recommendations and Guide

I’d forgotten how lovely the New Mexican capital is, but as you ponder a quick escape for late autumn, might we suggest a long-weekend fling here, which will supply low humidity and mild temperatures well into November. With gorgeous, 65 degree fall weather, golden yellow birch trees, and a crowd of overly friendly residents, it always lives up to its reputation. Founded in the 1600s before the pilgrims settled Plymouth Rock, this former Spanish kingdom has deep historical roots. Stroll art galleries and immerse yourself in the sensuous art of former resident Georgia O’Keefe. Eat at one of the many culinary boutiques, including a teahouse with 10 pages of hot beverages from which to choose, and a restaurant that serves 10 different types of mac & cheese; and there’s good nuevo-Mexican food too, plus a number of other culinary gems from vegan Rastafarian to African. Not to mention the museums, history, jewelry shops, and incredible landscapes that surround – Santa Fe is a delight for creatives looking for a sense of place.
