Stay: Nomad London
A secret and chic kid-friendly spot in the heart of London.
London, United Kingdom
91 rooms, from 480 GBP
Suprisingly, the chic and design-forward Nomad Hotel in London holds a great secret: they strike an excellent balance between being a luxury, adult stay and still making children feel very welcome. The staff is kind and engaging with young kids, often squatting down to their level to talk to them, and giving them a special treats. Inside the room, babies and toddlers are given their own stuffed animal and bath amenities that cater to sensitive skin - incredibly thoughtful touches. They also offer babysitting services upon request. The location itself is excellent for any transportation-obsessed children, just across the street from the London Transport Museum with its full-size trains and vehicles.
Located in Covent Garden, directly across from the Opera, this New York-to-London brand outpost (recently acquired by Hilton) is an excellent location for indulging in theater. The acclaimed interior designers Jacques Garcia and Roman & Williams create a feast for the eyes: A moody, dark and luxurious lobby (think velvets, leather, and teal highlights) leads to a bright solarium-topped restaurant; there’s a library for coffees and reading; their adjacent bar, Side Hustle, is buzzy and quite the scene for cocktails as is their subterranean speakeasy. But, the hotel overall remains quiet. Rooms are more of a contemporary, early 20th-century vibe with leather headboards and mid-century fixtures, an ode to Manhattan. Bathrooms have heated floors. Classic Rooms start at 247 sq ft, so opt for a bigger category if you want a bit more space for your family. The Nomad is generally regarded for excellent service including a highly-rated concierge and thoughtful amenities (for adults too). Note that some recent reviews mention problems with an absence of staff at reception, delays and mishaps with room service, and long waiting times in the restaurant.
