Intel: European Villas with Private Pools

On Airbnb and VRBO, everyone is competing for the same limited stock of house rentals. But, in Europe, there are a few specialists that showcase private villa rentals in far-flung locales. One of our favorite purveyors is Vintage Travel, whose properties are not only generally affordable, but their signature offering is that each comes with your own private pool.
Our experience with the British-based Vintage Travel has been positive. Each home comes with a full folio of local experiences in which to enjoy and embrace the culture, in addition to the home itself. One place we rented some months ago had neatly manicured terraces, a pergola for breakfasts, and its own supply of ripe kiwis, ready to pick from the vines.
Off-beaten locations on offer include Northern Portugal, Croatia, Turkey, Greece, and the Balearic Islands, amongst others.
Note: Most rentals require a one week minimum stay. Villas start from about 675 usd weekly.
