Unexpected European-style Transit in North Africa.

Intel: The Moroccan Railway

Many visitors to Morocco don’t consider utilizing the country’s excellent railway system to traverse between distant destinations, often opting for a driver or flight. But the trains in Morocco are modern, reliable, and affordable, and are a great way to move between Casablanca, Rabat, Marrakech, Tangier, and beyond.

The Al Boraq and Al Atlas are “bullet trains” and provide first and economy class service from the main railway stations in the principal towns.

Example travel times:

Casablanca to Marrakech, 2.5 hours

Casablanca to Fes, 3.5 hours

Casablanca to Rabat, 1 hour
