Intel: Stop for Alfajores in the Airport!

Alfajores are a classic Argentine delicacy - a dulce de leche-filled cookie sandwich that is slowly making its way around indie bakeries stateside. You'll see them in cafes city-wide, and the most famous maker, Havanna, has their signature yellow boxes for sale in all the duty free shops.

BUT, Havanna offers an extra rich, and extra delicious version of the Alfajore that puts the others to shame: it's called "70% Cacao Puro," and these are the gifts that you will want to take home, for your self, and for your friends. It is our favorite Argentine souvenir. Yes, they are available at Ezeira Airport's Duty Free Shops in Buenos Aires. (And another secret: they are now available on Amazon, though they are much more $$$).
