Intel: Seat Guru is Passé
Finding your best plane seat.
Seat Guru was once the premier way to help you find the best seat for your needs on an airplane – that is, until Trip Advisor acquired it in 2007. Its seat maps haven’t been updated in years, rumors have it.
But don’t fret – there’s a newer site we love to use that has very up-to-date seat maps for airlines across the world: Aerolopa. While it does not have the easy to use red, yellow, and green warning indicators for good and bad seats like the former, it does have exceptional graphics that allow you to judge spacing between seats, cabin partitions, and even small but important details like those bulky doors that make exit row seats less desirable.
In order to use this tool, you’ll need to know the airline and exactly the plane type you’re flying (often listed in your reservation details).
